Change in Payment Processors
Blog Template Designs has switched payment processors. We were having some problems with PayDotCom. First, they only accept payments from PayPal and PayPal has been a little unreliable lately. Second, everyone was being charged the fee for PayDotCom as well as the fee for PayPal. So we have now switched to Clickbank. Clickbank accepts all major credit cards, checks and PayPal. I am sorry if this is a big inconvenience for anyone. To change your affiliate links and to get signed up with Clickbank, go to http://www.blogtemplatedesigns.com/affiliates.html
We also have made the affiliate program open to everyone, regardless of whether they have purchased the software or not.
We anticipate that these changes will benefit everyone. Of course we want your feedback. Please post your comments and/or questions here.
Thank you for your continued support and cooperation during these changes.

Writing Your Blog
Once you have a place to publish your blog, you will have to set aside some time each week to develop new content. When writing your blog:
•Write simply and clearly. Use small paragraphs and spell check before uploading. Your readers will trust what you have to say if you say it well.
•Go easy on the advertising. The idea of a blog is to give readers something fun and exciting to read and look at. You will have more readers if you comment on the world and are entertaining, rather than just hype your product. Consider writing about your day, the atmosphere your workplace has, and culture, rather than just your company.
•Consider many types of content. Blogs allow you to upload images, create links, and allow users to make comments. Your blog will have many more readers if you make your blog exciting with these pluses.

Blog Content
Give Your Readers What They Want
Studies suggest that as many as a quarter of Internet users tune into blogs. That means that if you can give your blog readers what they want, you can be reasonably sure of having a decent audience. Among the content that you may want to include in your blog:
•Tips and advice. Many successful marketing blogs are much like successful consumer magazines – readers tune in to read content that is useful. A computer company can offer computer tips and advice, for example, while a writing service blog can include daily ways to boost writing skills.
•Interest. If your personal or business life is fascinating, then great. There are many successful marketing blogs that detail the exciting lives of company presidents who are also hobby racecar drivers or skydivers. This sort of material can ensure a steady audience.
•Humanity. One of the things that blog readers are most interested to see is the face behind the company. Many blog readers like a company run by people who have similar concerns. Building humanity into your blog by detailing your company’s efforts to help the community, for example, is a great way to build credibility and customer loyalty.
•Style. Many readers just love to see a gorgeous, well-written blog. Plenty of marketing blogs simply provide interesting content and nice graphics and do quite well in drawing readers and customers.

Adsense Blogs
Only a few short years ago, the idea of intentionally constructing a blog for generating Adsense revenues was a shocking deviation from community norms. Blogging emerged in something of a community, and that group of individuals, who were primarily concerned with social networking and exploring self-expression, were taken aback by the first people to publicly indicate their intentions of building Adsense blogs.
With per click prices for keywords like “mesothelioma” soaring and the power of blogs to attract massive traffic flows becoming increasingly evident, it was only a matter of time before someone realized blogging for Adsense revenue was a credible way to generate an income. The initial reaction from those in the blogging community was less than lukewarm, but Adsense blogs did draw traffic and demonstrated real moneymaking power.
The official Terms of Service for Adsense prohibit the construction of a site with the sole intention of generating Adsense revenue. The content-rich blogs that popped up as a means of profiting via Adsense may have been motivated by revenue opportunities, but they did provide some level of relevant information and there are few recorded instances of Google actually attempting to divine bloggers’ intentions and shutting down Adsense blogs on that basis.
In only a few short years, the once reviled practice of creating Adsense blogs has become a norm. Every day, people search out underserved online markets and investigate the feasibility of developing blogs around those themes in order to generate Adsense earnings. The trick is to combine a paucity of competition with the potential for relevant advertising that pays at an adequate per click rate. One need not be a trailblazer today in order to start a successful Adsense blog. He or she must instead be an expert keyword and advertising researcher.
Adsense blogs are now ubiquitous. Their popularity stems from a few different factors. First, they are incredibly easy to set up and to fill with relevant content (the key to any Adsense-based approach). Secondly, they tend to attract a significant amount of search engine traffic and can often build a sizeable readership quickly. Third, the CSS design of most blogs allows for easy and consistent placement of Adsense ad blocks throughout the blog. Those three factors have produced an impressive track record of profitable blogs.
Is the Adsense blog market now so saturated that the glory days of significant revenue have passed? Although some naysayers may argue that the Adsense-supported blog is slowly on its way out, there are still great opportunities to earn a healthy income through a combination of blogging and Adsense. The market is, undoubtedly, more competitive. It can be tapped, though, with good content and great preliminary keyword research.
The Adsense blog has gone from being a source of outrage within a then tight-knit community to being a normal part of everyday online life in a short period. As long as smart bloggers can find underserved niches and produce the content necessary to attract their visitors, the Adsense model of blogging will remain profitable.

Successful Blogs
Successful Advertising Blogs: What Makes them Work?
As blogging has grown, so has the number of people who have found a way to produce profitable blogs. One of the most commonly used methods of blog monetization has been placing contextual advertising on one’s site. Every time a visitor clicks on one of these ads, the advertising broker pays the blogger who displays them. Google’s Adsense program has been the leading force behind contextual advertising programs, but other players have entered the picture, too, providing some additional options for those operating advertising blogs.
For every person who can boast of making several hundred (or more) dollars per month from each of his or her advertising blogs, there are countless thousands who are chagrined by their inability to generate more than a few cents per week with theirs. What separates the successful advertising blogs from their struggling counterparts?
Successful advertising blogs work for a combination of reasons. They combine the right content in the right niche. This generates targeted traffic that is “pre-qualified” to click on the advertising to which they will be exposed. In the most basic of terms, if you can drive enough people to the advertising blog and those people have a genuine interest in the topic being advertised, you will turn a profit.
That is, of course, far easier to say than it is to do. That’s because truly successful advertising blogs rarely happen by accident. They are usually the product of careful keyword and market research. A good for-profit blogger will try to isolate an underserved niche within thee marketplace by supplying it with a significant amount of related content (at least enough of it to get good enough search engine placement to create a regular flow of traffic).
A good advertising blog owner will also make sure to choose a subject matter that will serve up relevant contextual advertising. Targeting a hot niche won’t do much good if there aren’t related advertisers available to meet the niche’s member’s interests. The highest earning blog operators will also try to search out situations in which the advertismenets offered generate a reasonable amount of money per click.
Many people have heard that blogging is easy and that using Adsense is easy. They have also heard that there are people out there making a very healthy living operating advertising blogs. All of those statements are true. However, one cannot simply assume that because things are easy to do that making money will be just as easy.
Blogging is simple. Adsense is simple. Creating an advertising blog that makes a significant amount of money, however, is a bit more complicated. It requires keyword and advertising research, as well as solid blogging skills. If one can find the right market sector, supply it with good content, and have their blog serve up paying relevant advertising, they can turn their advertising blog into a legitimate moneymaker.
